Trivia:

1) Featured short CGI realistic stunt double fighting scene at the end of the Goro vs Cage fight.

2)Mortal Kombat is a 1995 American fantasy martial arts action film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson  Based on the video game franchise of the same name, it is the first installment in the Mortal Kombat film series.
3) Cameron Diaz was originally cast as Sonya Blade, but dropped out due to a wrist injury and was replaced by Bridgette Wilson.
4) Scripted but not filmed were a short battle between Sonya and Jade, another of Shang Tsung's servants, and a scene where Shang Tsung allowed the heroes a night to mourn the loss of Art Lean and bury him in the Garden of Statues, underneath the statue of Kung Lao.
5) Jean-Claude Van Damme turned down the role of Johnny Cage to do Street Fighter (1994). The character in the games was allegedly originally based on him.
6) Ed Boon, co-creator of the original video game Mortal Kombat (1992), starred as the voice of Scorpion.

7) Released only a month after the first ever CGI stunt double scene in Batman Forever (1995).
